I’m Helen- holistic grief specialist

As well as an ICF qualified coach, I am a mentor and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) trainee, I’m a mum to two teenage boys and have been happily married for nearly 20 years. I have northern roots but have called Wiltshire home for over a decade, after chapters in both London and Oxford.

In my earlier career, I worked in the charity sector in corporate fundraising; organising events, working with celebrities. It was fun, varied and full of purpose, but what I loved most was the knowledge that I was helping people.

My Story and Why I do This Work

My own journey with grief began over a decade ago when my mum lost her three year battle with cancer. I was 40, she was 70, and my boys were just 4 and 6. It shook my world and left me without my mum at a time when I still needed her so much. I then lost my dad during the pandemic and had to say goodbye to him dressed in PPE on a COVID ward. I won’t lie, it’s been tough.

Trying to grieve while supporting my children through their own emotions, working and leading a busy life was incredibly hard. I kept going, holding everything together on the outside, but inside I felt lost. Life didn’t feel ‘normal’ anymore, because normal had vanished.

Loss has shaped me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. My husband says I’m a different person - and I feel that too. But that’s not a bad thing. I’m more confident in expressing myself, less apologetic about what I need, and I know I am resilient.

But, it took me a long time to find my north star again, and it’s why I’m so passionate about helping others find theirs. I am the support I wish I’d had- a calm, compassionate, understanding space where you can begin to make sense of your grief, reconnect with yourself, and work out what comes next.

If you’ve lost your mum too, you’re in the right place.

“I cannot thank you enough Helen for all the help and support that you have given me over the last few months. I have found that I have been more equipped to deal with, and unpick life’s ups and downs so much more and feel a more confident person.

The coaching sessions were something completely new to me and I was a little apprehensive about what it might entail, however I am so glad that I went for it.

The monthly sessions allow me time to prioritise myself for once and I now feel I have the support and the growing tool kit to continue to be the best possible version of myself most of the time! I couldn’t recommend Helen enough.”
